Apple Tart

200g plain flour

100g butter

4 tablespoons water

4 large cooking apples

Cinnamon

1 egg

Caster sugar

Rub the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.

Add the water and stir to a dough with the back of a knife.

Chill the pastry for 30 minutes.

Sprinkle the apple with sugar and cinnamon.

Prick the top with a fork and brush with beaten egg before baking.

Bake for 10 minutes at 220°C, then for 20 minutes at 190°C.

Sprinkle with caster sugar while hot.
